The past few years have been tough, and 2025 has brought its own challenges. But we continue to run Vegan Style as a labour of love, staying true to our ethical and sustainable mission.

We Don’t Want to Close Our Doors

Globally, half of vegan shoe brands have closed their doors, and countless other vegan businesses have struggled to survive. It’s been heartbreaking to watch, but it’s also reaffirmed why we do what we do. Vegan Style isn’t just a business—it’s our mission in life.

 Every pair of shoes we create, every brand we carefully check to ensure they meet our standards, every accessory we handpick, is part of our commitment to sustainability, kindness, and ethical practices.

We don’t want to close our doors, and the truth is, we’re only able to hang on because:

• We both work day jobs to help cover debts and keep the business alive.

• We had to close our shop and let go of some cherished staff.

• We now operate with just two part-time team members and our warehouse.

• We’re lucky to use the warehouse to run the business part-time.

• Every step we take is about keeping our mission going and staying true to what we stand for.

At the same time, the challenges facing small businesses continue to grow:

• Around half of vegan shoe brands worldwide have closed in recent years.

• Small businesses continue to struggle with rising costs, financial instability, and return fraud.

• In Australia, business failures have surged by 50% this financial year, with insolvencies up 47.1% between July and December 2024 (source).

Here’s what that looks like this year

Limited Stock and Made-to-Order

We’re not ready to launch a new range or replenish our warehouse stock in the traditional sense — we can’t afford to. Instead, we are focusing on the huge amount of stock we still have at the warehouse and our exciting pre-order range.

• We have plenty of styles available at the warehouse.

• You can book an appointment to try on this stock before you buy.

• We need to move this stock before we can order new items, so it’s a great opportunity to grab your favourites.

Why Pre-Order

Made-to-order ensures:

• You can secure your favourite size even if it’s not in stock.

• Less waste and lower environmental impact by avoiding overproduction.

• Ongoing product improvements with each batch.
