Nice sandals; soles very slippery when new!

I bought these sandals because I've had them before and they're nice-looking, comfortable and stand up to some pretty rough treatment. I wore my last pair a lot, including several times wading through downpours, and they held up really well, still looking good after drying out! This pair is also really nice-looking, but the soles were very inflexible when I first put them on, something I don't remember from the previous ones. Straight after I put them on, I skidded on my polished wooden floor and had quite a nasty fall. After that, I was very hesitant to wear them. I've started wearing them and have broken the soles in a bit so they're not so slippery. I really like the way they look and feel. They've got a nice 30s vibe that looks great with my favourite vintage dresses, and they're very comfortable. But I'm still afraid to wear them as much as I would like to, say, if it's raining, but I will continue breaking the soles in and think they'll probably be fine after a while. So if you buy these, just be careful of the slippery soles when new!
